- Make decisions in operational actions
The long-range tracking solution’s requirements:
- The ship must have a PC with a satellite Internet connection.
- The ship must have an installed AIS transponder.
- AIS transponder must be connected to the PC.
If you like this solution but do not have
a satellite Internet connection on your ships, contact
us and we will provide you a similar (even cheaper) solution based
on the other type of satellite communication system.
How to make it work in 5 minutes:
- Download and install SiiTech AIS Server Lite (see Downloads
page)
- Connect your working AIS transponder to the computer through a
serial or network interface
- Specify in SiiTech AIS Server Lite the type of connection to your
AIS device
- Start AIS Server Lite
- See the ship position on http://vtslite.siitech.com/VTSLite
Note: If your COM port connection is using settings other than default
ones, you will have to change the default settings accordingly. If you
are using a network AIS device, you will have to specify its TCP address
and port number.
For more information see AIS
Server Administrator’s Guide (PDF).
The solution supports S57 and BSB nautical charts, Open Street,
