The search vessel function has two options:
- to find a current position of a vessel;
- to find the last seen position of a vessel (if a vessel doesn't provide any current position report);
To find a current position of a vessel you should know MMSI number or Name or Call Sign of the vessel.
To start the search open the Web VTS window.

Type the vessel's name into the Search box and click Go.
Web VTS will find the vessel and show it on the map/chart. See below.

Note: Web VTS system performs a search procedure based on data that it receives from a vessel's AIS transponder, if a vessel's AIS transponder was programmed wrongly (misspelled name)
then Web VTS could have a problem to find the vessel.
Tip: Always try to use MMSI number first to make a search.
To find the last seen position of a vessel you should know MMSI number or Name or Call Sign of the vessel.
To start the search open the Web VTS window.

Type the vessel's name into the Search box and click History.
Web VTS will find the vessel's last seen position and show it on the map/chart. See below.
